Free Civil War Records Online

For the month of June Footnote.com is allowing free access to its scanned Civil War documents. This online service provides details such as searchable muster rolls, pension index, widow’s pensions, the 1860 census and a number of other resources, so it is particularly useful for family and regimental research. It also contains 6,000 photographs and 2,000 maps so is well worth a look during the month. Among the records are those of many Irishmen and Irish regiments.
